Four places to put a portable lamp

A portable lamp needs no wiring and no fixing, so it can move. These four spots are a good place to start in most rooms.

1. A bedside table

It replaces a plug-in bedside lamp, and you can take it away to charge during the day. No socket needed by the bed.

2. A shelf

Tucked between books, linen or objects, it lights one spot without turning on the whole room. To hang it instead, the magnet strap and the hook are in the box.

3. A side table by the sofa

On a side table it adds light where you are sitting, and it moves with you.

4. The dining table

In the middle of the table instead of a candle: steady light, no smoke, nothing to blow out.

How far outdoors

Snowman 8 and Snowman 12 are rated IP44 — protected against water splashes from all directions. ILKW state they can be used for light outdoor use, a balcony or a garden on an ordinary evening. They are not made to be left outside permanently or used in heavy rain.
